First Nations Education
We would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we stand, the Wulgurukaba and Bindal people. We pay our respects to the elders both past, present and future, for they hold the memories, the traditions, the culture and hopes of our First Nation peoples.
Our Mission Statement: St Margaret Mary’s College is a Catholic learning community where young women are educated, inspired and inspirited. True to the story of the Good Samaritan, we are people of hope, who live compassionately and justly.
This is true to our First Nations Team here at St Margaret Mary’s College ‘we are a people of hope, who work with passion and impartially.’ In developing the potential that is within the students, St Margaret Mary’s College strives to create an environment that connects students with their culture and hope.
At St Margaret Mary’s College we are proud of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander graduates, young women who are ‘educated, inspired and inspirited’ to do and be the best that they can be. There are opportunities for our First Nations students to be creative with their talents and be inspired to do well in their area of interest.
Our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, both graduates and current, have an important role to play and are strongly encouraged to develop their gifts in their area of learning and to actively participate in their community. This is supported by the First Nations Team and Staff at St Margaret Mary’s College.
